Ivara provides extremely powerful security profile definition capabilities that allow you to control the program areas users can access and the actions they can perform. Security can restrict access to an entire functional area, a view within a functional area, actions, or even a field on a view. This level of security control is unique among enterprise software applications.

With Ivara security you can determine which actions various users can perform on each Ivara object. For example, some users may be allowed to create and edit assets, while other users are only allowed to view them. In a multi-site implementation you can also set different levels of security for users who will view or work with objects from different sites.

Ivara provides a security capture mode to allow administrators to more easily set up security profiles by browsing through the product and identifying elements in the UI to be secured. As these are identified the administrator simply presses the right mouse button on the UI element and is provided with a menu as to apply the appropriate security. This “capture mode” makes the development of sophisticated user profiles a simple matter.
