IBM Maximo Certified Integration
Enabling the Full Life Cycle of Asset Performance Management
Ivara EXP Enterprise extends IBM Maximo’s traditional Enterprise Asset Management capabilities by providing powerful functionality to enable the full life-cycle of asset performance management. In a certified integrated environment:
- IBM Maximo is used to manage asset master data as well as manage the planning, scheduling, execution and follow up of the work determined required by Ivara EXP Enterprise.
- Ivara EXP Enterprise provides one consolidated view of asset health online and in real-time. It acts as a centralized repository for all asset reliability programs. It consolidates all condition data from various sources; visual inspections (checksheets, handheld mobile devices), predictive maintenance technologies, online systems, controls, sensors, and data historians. EXP automates the evaluation of equipment condition data to alarm by exception. It combines multiple asset condition points into complex calculations, rules and algorithms. EXP detects the onset of failure early and graphically depicts historical condition data, then recommends actions based on an alarm. The alarm triggers the right work at the right time in IBM Maximo.
With a certified “Ready for Tivoli” interface, Ivara EXP Enterprise helps organizations maximize their investment in the IBM Maximo solution by enabling a proactive approach to equipment performance management.
Benefits of Ivara EXP Enterprise Certified Interface to IBM Maximo:
- Reduces costly integration efforts
- Streamlines IT infrastructures
- Accelerates the deployment of EXP Enterprise with IBM Maximo
- Accelerates IBM Maximo time-to-value
- Ensures informed maintenance decision-making
- Together IBM Maximo and EXP deliver an integrated and holistic approach to executing a proactive condition-based maintenance strategy to optimize asset performance
Features of the Interface:
- Work Order Creation and Close – The Right Work at the Right Time
Using Ivara EXP to monitor the health of your equipment, alarms will be triggered when an equipment indicator is out of normal range or when a set of rules or calculations indicate that there is a problem. With the acknowledgement of an indicator alarm, a work order will be created in IBM Maximo. The certified interface automates the creation of the work order and uses pre-planned Maximo job plans as the basis for the work triggered. When resulting work is completed and work order is closed in Maximo, the work order is closed in EXP. - Asset Synchronization
IBM Maximo is the master for all key equipment and functional location data. The certified interface synchronizes key equipment master data into EXP Enterprise. As new records are added or changed, status or priority updated, the asset hierarchy in EXP Enterprise is kept in sync. As reliability strategy / work identification analyses are completed for an asset in EXP, the asset record in IBM Maximo is updated to reflect the new status. - Ivara Standard Task and IBM Maximo Job Plan Synchronization
In moving to a reliability focused approach to maintenance, maintenance job plans and PM jobs need to be build from technically-based reliability strategy analyses. The analyses and resulting reliability programs reside in EXP.
The certified interface provides a bi-directional synchronization of Ivara standard tasks to Maximo job plans. Only the key identifying information is required to be synchronized to EXP so that they can be referenced in configuring Alarms. All the planning details (parts, labor etc) are retained solely in IBM Maximo where they are applied in completing the work. In EXP Enterprise, equipment condition indicators can be configured to recommend a specific IBM Maximo task when a particular alarm is triggered. Standard task lists result from a Maintenance Task Analysis or Ivara RCM2™ analysis and are linked to failure modes. All tasks are synchronized and may be referenced in configuring an alarm.
The certified interface provides a bi-directional synchronization of Ivara standard jobs to Maximo PM job plans. All properties and additional planning activities are performed and maintained on the Maximo PM. The job triggering rule is maintained in Ivara.
