BURLINGTON, ON (October 7, 2008) – Ivara Corporation, the industry leader and innovator in asset performance management solutions, today announced that Domtar Corporation’s Ashdown Mill, located in Arkansas and North America’s largest uncoated free sheet paper mill, has realized significant annual savings and increased proactive maintenance by approximately 15% with Ivara® EXP Enterprise.

Domtar Corporation is the largest manufacturer and marketer of uncoated free sheet paper in North America. Domtar implemented EXP Enterprise asset performance management software to drive its enterprise-wide reliability initiative and support its goal of production and profitability improvements.

The annual savings were realized in the areas of pulp drying, power generation, woodyard management and paper machine maintenance.

Ivara EXP Enterprise is a cohesive, integrated platform for managing all aspects of a proactive maintenance process – creation, execution and sustainment. The process is supported by advanced reliability practices and developed with the Ivara Work Smart® delivery methodology. To identify and develop technically-based equipment maintenance programs, Domtar Ashdown leveraged Ivara® Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) reliability strategy development methodology. MTA, which is based on RCM2™ principles, is an accelerated and less resource-intensive failure mode analysis methodology. Once defined by MTA, Domtar’s newly developed proactive maintenance program was captured in EXP Enterprise.
